A Lake House Repaint in Green Lake, Wisconsin: Before, During and After

Green Lake lake house after painting: new gray siding with white trim, front

Faded, chalky siding on a lakeside cottage and garage, scraped, primed and repainted in a new gray with white trim. A full exterior repaint, start to finish, in photographs.

From the days when you counseled us about color selection and paint type until the jobs were completed, all aspects of the work were right on target. We appreciated the care with which the crew prepared the rooms and the exterior for the work. Your teams were always punctual. Their work ethic was obvious. They worked diligently and there was little disruption to our daily routines. Wangman Family, Glenview, IL

  • How do you know when siding needs repainting rather than washing?

Rub a hand on it. If it comes away chalky, the paint has failed at the surface and washing alone will not bring it back. Peeling, bare wood and open caulk joints are the other signs.

  • Can you change the color of a house?

Yes. A darker color over a lighter one needs full, even coats and careful priming of any bare spots, otherwise the old color shows through on sunny walls.

  • Do you paint detached garages and outbuildings?

Yes, and we recommend doing them with the house so the property matches and the crew is already set up.

  • How long does a full exterior take?

Most houses take a few days to a week depending on size, prep and weather. Pete gives you the schedule in writing with the quote.

  • Do you travel for exterior work?

Our base is Northbrook and the North Shore. For customers of ours we have painted second homes as far as Wisconsin.

  • What happens after the job?

A final walk-through with you, touch-ups on the spot, and the option of an annual Exterior Care Plan visit so the paint lasts as long as it should.
