Keep the Paint Job You Paid For
A North Shore exterior lasts eight to twelve years when someone washes it, checks the caulk, and touches up the south and west walls every spring. Left alone, the same paint job starts failing in year five or six, water gets into bare wood, and the next repaint arrives early with carpentry on the invoice. The Exterior Care Plan is the “someone.” We come back every spring, do the work the article told you to do, and keep your workmanship guarantee active the whole time.

What Every Spring Visit Includes
- Low-pressure wash of all painted surfaces, with a mildew treatment on shaded walls.
- Walk-around inspection of every elevation: caulk, sills, fascia, soffits, trim, doors, and the sun-facing walls that fail first.
- Touch-ups and spot priming, up to two labor hours, in the original colors we keep on file for your house.
- Recaulking of any joint that has cracked or pulled away.
- Photo report emailed within a week: what we found, what we fixed, and what to watch.
- A written quote for anything beyond the visit, so nothing is a surprise and nothing is done without your say-so.
- Your guarantee, kept active. As long as you are on the plan, if our workmanship fails, we come back and fix it.
- Your spot on the calendar. Plan visits are scheduled first each spring, before the season fills.

Add to Any Plan
Clean, brighten, and recoat the deck or fence on the same spring visit, before the gray sets in.
A maintenance coat of varnish or enamel on the doors that face the sun, so they never need stripping again.
What Waiting Looks Like
Exterior paint does not fail all at once. It fails in a sequence, and every step is cheaper to stop than the one after it. This is what we see on North Shore houses that go without a yearly look, and where the plan steps in.
A caulk joint opens
Sun and freeze-thaw pull a window or trim joint apart by a hairline. Nobody notices it from the driveway.
On the plan: cut out and recaulked on the spring visit.
Water gets behind the paint
The paint around the joint blisters and lifts. The wood underneath is wet after every rain and never fully dries.
On the plan: scraped, spot-primed, and touched up in the original color.
The wood goes soft
A sill, a fascia board, or a column base starts to rot. Paint cannot hold on it any more, so the peeling spreads.
On the plan: caught in the photo report, with a written quote for a small repair before it grows.
Carpentry, then a repaint
The rotted piece is replaced, the whole elevation is repainted, and the same sequence is already under way on the other side of the house.
The plan is built to keep you at year one, every year.
A maintained exterior on the North Shore goes ten to twelve years between full repaints. An unmaintained one is often peeling by year seven, with repairs added to the bill. Pete quotes every repair in writing before it is done, and nothing beyond the visit is ever started without your say-so.
How It Works
- Enroll. Pick your plan and term above. It sends Pete a request through our contact form; no payment is taken online.
- Pete confirms. He checks the home size, answers any questions, and sends a QuickBooks invoice for the first year. Pay by check or through the invoice.
- Your spring visit is scheduled for you. You get a reminder in late winter, a confirmed date, and a knock on the door. Nothing to remember.
- The report lands in your inbox. Photos, what we fixed, what to watch, and a note about the following year. Renewal is a one-line email before your term ends.
The Guarantee
For as long as your home is on the Exterior Care Plan, our workmanship guarantee stays active. If paint we applied peels, blisters, or fails because of how it was prepped or applied, we come back and make it right at no charge. Weather, impact damage, and surfaces we did not paint are the only exclusions, and we will tell you on the visit if we see any.
Who the Plan Is For
Homes we painted, first. That is where the guarantee applies and where we already know every surface and color. If we have not painted your house, we can still enroll it after a paid first-year inspection visit; Pete will tell you honestly whether the current paint is worth maintaining or whether a repaint should come first.
